Nelson Tavares, Senior Vice President
Taunton Federal Credit Union, Taunton, MA


Nelson Tavares joined Taunton Federal Credit Union in June of 2012. TFCU is located in Taunton, MA and services the areas of Bristol County, MA and nearly all of Rhode Island. Nelson is responsible for managing the Lending, Managed Assets, and Retail departments of the Credit Union. He oversees the collection of delinquent commercial loans, residential mortgages, home equity lines, small business loans and consumer loan portfolios. Nelson also manages the recovery process of all previously charged off loans. Nelson has over 16 years experience in the banking industry, with particular concentrated service in all areas of lending, retail banking, and organizational leadership.

Nelson holds Master’s Degree in Business Administration from the University of Massachusetts, and he is also a graduate of the New England School for Financial Studies held by the MBA at Babson College. He currently resides in Dartmouth, MA with his wife and family.

Jennifer Huska, Assistant Vice President of Collections and Loan Servicing

Jennifer joined Mutual Bank in January 2014 as Collections and Loan Servicing Officer. Mutual Bank is located in Whitman, MA and serves Plymouth County and surrounding areas. Jennifer is responsible for Collections and Loan Servicing. She manages the collection of delinquent residential mortgages, home equity lines, and consumer loan portfolios. Jennifer has 9 years experience in the banking industry and 7 years experience in the 3rd party debt collections industry. Jennifer has also served on the Board of Directors for the Brockton Visiting Nurses Association since October 2015.

Gary Long, Senior Collector — Loan Servicing
Cambridge Savings Bank, Arlington, MA


Gary joined Cambridge Savings Bank in June 2017 as the Senior Collector in the Arlington Center Office. As the Senior Collector, he is responsible for the day to day collections as well as Loss Mitigation for delinquent Residential Mortgages, Home Equity Lines, Consumer loans and SBA Loans.

Gary has more than 4 years of experience in banking and over 12 years of experience in the 3rd party Debt Collections industry. Gary was previously the Collector for The Savings Bank in Wakefield, MA. Prior to Gary entering the banking industry, he was a Senior Collector and a Collections Manager for Richard J. Boudreau & Associates, LLC.

Gary has been a member of N.E.A.M.A. since 2014.

Robert Thraen, VP – Portfolio Manager
Eastern Bank, Lynn, MA


Robert Thraen joined Eastern Bank as Portfolio Manager in May of 2016. Eastern Bank is the largest independent, mutually owned bank in New England and the largest community bank in Massachusetts. Founded in 1818 and headquartered in Boston, Eastern has combined prudent management with well-timed acquisitions to evolve from a modest savings bank to a full-service commercial bank to meet the communities financial needs. With more than $9.6 billion in assets and approximately 100 branches in Massachusetts and New Hampshire, they have the size, stability, technology and knowledge to deliver custom-tailored financial solutions in a convenient way.

As a Portfolio Manager Robert is responsible for a wide variety of activities at the Bank. He works with 15 Business Bankers to help manage and grow their portfolio’s. The portfolio that he manages is over $700 million in total assets. Roberts responsibilities include annual reviews of accounts including complete financial analysis, verifying that financial covenants are being met and completing property inspections. Robert has over 20 years’ experience in the banking industry, with particular concentration in portfolio management and problem debt management.

Robert holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Finance from Arizona State University in Tempe, Arizona. He currently resides in Danvers, Massachusetts with his wife.

Joseph A. Camillo, Jr., Managing Partner – Default Servicing

Joseph Camillo is the managing partner of SHS’s Foreclosure and Default Servicing Practice Groups. Mr. Camillo has over 22 years of experience in the areas of Banking, Creditors’ Rights, Bankruptcy, Foreclosure, Real Estate, Litigation, Regulatory Compliance and Condominium Law, Mr. He is admitted to practice law in all state and federal courts in MA and NH, US District Court in VT as well as the US Court of Appeals for the 1st Circuit. Mr. Camillo earned his J.D. from the Massachusetts School of Law in 1994, and B.A. from St. Bonaventure University in 1989. He lectures extensively throughout the country on topics such as foreclosure, bankruptcy, eviction and litigation. Mr. Camillo serves as Corporate Counsel to New England Adjustment Managers Association in addition to being a Conference Faculty Member of Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education (MCLE) and Real Estate Bar Association (REBA). Current Memberships include the American Legal and Financial Network (ALFN) US Financial Network (USN), American Bankruptcy Institute, Real Estate Bar Association, Massachusetts/New Hampshire Bar Associations, American Liver Foundation/Leukemia & Lymphoma Society for which he has raised funds and awareness by participating and completing several marathons and Ironman endurance races. He is also an underwriting agent for national title insurance companies and serves as Chairman of the Board of Trustees for Fort Point Place Condominium Association.
